Director of Development and Communications
Ryan Larson is the Director of Development and Communications of the Texas Trees Foundation, a private nonprofit focused on urban forestry, green infrastructure and sustainable design. The Foundation’s strategic approach is based in research driven data to mitigate the environmental challenges and related public health concerns that trees can alleviate.
Mr. Larson has a wide breadth of experience in philanthropy and his specialties include capital campaigns, donor centered fundraising, volunteer development, and grant writing. He holds a Certificate in Fundraising Management from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University and is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE).
Ryan is a Seattle native where he graduated from the University of Washington prior to coming to Texas in 2013 to work as the associate director for alumni relations at the headquarters of a national nonprofit.
He and his wife, Amber, have three children, Emma, Jack and Mia. On the weekends, you will probably find him coaching one of their children’s three soccer teams or outdoors leading a scout camping trip.
“Great gifts mean great responsibilities; greater gifts, greater responsibilities!” is his guiding principle, and one that he believes applies to both individuals and nonprofits alike.
