State of the Denton Urban Forest

The urban forest of Denton plays a crucial role in the livability and sustainability of the city.  Denton’s 3.5 million trees impact everything from economic development to the overall health of the people that live, work, and play in Denton every day. During the summer of 2016 Texas Trees Foundation, in partnership with Preservation Tree Services, Plan-It Geo, and Keep Denton Beautiful to conduct a state-of the art urban forestry assessment.

Rowlett RETREET

On December 26th 2015, an EF4 tornado devastated Rowlett, TX, leaving 1,344 homes either being damaged or destroyed. An estimated $1.2 billion in damages were caused and thousands of trees were lost. On December 10th, 2016, Texas Trees Foundation, RETREET and Keep Rowlett Beautiful will initiate the replanting of Rowlett.
