TUESDAY TIP: Conserving in the Kitchen!

Jul 13, 2011

The kitchen is one of the most-used rooms in every household and also the room that uses the most energy. Here are some tips to use less energy and save some money:

  • Keep the lid on. Pots covered with a lid cook the food faster because they retain more heat.
  • Use the burner that fits your pan. This way you don’t waste energy with the extra heat that doesn’t touch your pan.
  • Keep the refrigerator full, but not crowded. Full refrigerators retain the cold air so the temperature doesn’t go up every time the doors are opened.

Keep these tips in mind the next time you’re in the kitchen. Simple changes can make a significant difference in your energy bill and in efforts to create a cleaner environment!
